Making the commitment of becoming married is a big step, which takes a bit of planning of course. Our churches provide not only beautiful and spacious settings, we offer marriage preparation through “Love and Cherish” (see below for more about this), rehearsal time for the immediate wedding party and various options for music, bespoke flowers and of course photo opportunities.
A wedding service led by a priest, in the sight of God, is a very special way to start your married life together. We have a welcome space for children, toilets and access ramp where necessary, so we hope you and your guests will feel comfortable. We provide a ‘Welcomer’ who is a member of our congregation, to make sure all the background stuff goes smoothly and of course your service can be tailored to your needs, taking the time you would like it to. We don’t have more than one wedding on any one day, so we can offer a relaxed and very special service.
There are a few legal limitations on who may be married in a particular church, so the first step is to contact our Parish Office to enquire – 01329 232688.
Anyone marrying in our two churches is strongly recommended to take part in the online Love & Cherish marriage preparation programme which is provided by local Christian couples. The programme is all about preparing for your married relationship – not the practical preparations needed for your wedding day, which is dealt with by the church. You can find out more about the course which normally runs on Friday evening and the following Saturday morning, here: https://www.loveandcherish.org.uk/
