Inclusive Church

Our Parish is proud to be part of the network of churches called Inclusive Church. This is a network of churches, groups and individuals uniting together around the following shared vision:

“We believe in Inclusive Church – a church which celebrates and affirms every person and does not discriminate. We will continue to challenge the church where it continues to discriminate against people on grounds of disability, economic power, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, learning disability, mental health, neurodiversity, or sexuality. We believe in a Church which welcomes and serves all people in the name of Jesus Christ; which is scripturally faithful; which seeks to proclaim the Gospel afresh for each generation; and which, in the power of the Holy Spirit, allows all people to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Jesus Christ.”

As we strive to be a more inclusive parish, we have made some changes to our signage and displays, to make them more accessible to those using wheelchairs.  We have purchased headphones for congregation members with hearing loss to use, making services more audible in our echoing worship spaces.  Further, we hope we feel welcoming to everyone, regardless of their gender identity. In addition, we are proud to host a monthly service of the Open Table – a Christian charity which supports church communities for LGBT people and their allies. All welcome on the second Sunday of each month at 5pm in the Parish Centre.
