Beware of Scammers
The Council has become aware of several scams circulating on the internet and in our Borough targeting vulnerable residents and businesses. Please be aware to avoid being cheated by these criminals.
- Fake hand sanitiser being sold door to door and online.
- Fake Covid 19 testing kits being sold door to door and online.
- Strangers offering to do shopping errands and failing to return when money to pay has been given upfront.
- Text messages claiming to be from the Government stating you have to pay a fine for breaking lockdown rules.
These are just some of the scams that are in circulation.
